Our
Projects
The remit of an architectural practice has developed over the years to encapsulate much more than building design, yet the fundamentals still remain the same. As your architect, our primary mission is to craft buildings, spaces, and environments that enrich the quality of life for all who interact with them.
Every design we undertake takes into account its unique context. Through site visits and analysis of adjacent materials and surroundings, we create structures that harmonise with their environment. While our architectural visions need not mimic neighbouring buildings, they always reflect a deep respect for their surroundings, while also meeting your specific requirements and aspirations.
As the lead designer, the architect is tasked with delivering a project which satisfies the client’s brief and brings a shared vision into reality. This collaborative endeavour demands a comprehensive approach, engaging our whole design team and a diverse team of experts - from local structural engineers and quantity surveyors to specialists in fields like arboriculture and historic preservation - to ensure the seamless realisation of each project.
Our range of services include:
Shaping the Vision
This is the creative starting point. We work closely with you to understand what you want from your project — how you’ll use the space, what style you like, and what’s possible on your site.
At this stage, we explore ideas through sketches, simple floor plans, and 3D models to show how your future home or building might look and work. The aim is to agree on a clear vision that guides everything that follows.
Getting Permission
Once we’ve agreed on a design direction, we refine it and prepare for planning approval. We make sure the design fits your needs, works within your budget, and meets any rules set by your local council.
We may also consult with other experts (like engineers or landscape designers) to strengthen the proposal. Then, we submit the design to the planning authority for approval
Making it Safe and Legal
This stage ensures the design meets safety and legal standards, including structure, fire safety, energy use, and accessibility. We work with specialists and submit our plans for approval to a building control body.
Once approved, construction can begin. Inspectors check the work as it’s built to make sure it follows the approved plans.
Choosing the Right Contractor
With the design finalised, we help you find the best contractor for the job. We send detailed drawings and information to selected builders, who then quote for the work.
We compare their quotes and interview the best candidates, then recommend the one we think is the best fit. Once you agree, we help set up a formal contract to begin construction.
Seeing the Design Come to Life
To help you understand and feel confident about the design, we create 3D models and visual images of your building. These tools let you “walk through” the space and get a clear idea of how it will look and feel — before anything is built.
Managing the Build
We manage the construction phase to make sure everything runs smoothly. This includes:
- Checking that the work matches the design
- Approving payments to the builder
- Handling any changes or issues that come up
- Making regular site visits to monitor progress
At the end, we inspect the finished work and, once everything is complete and up to standard, we sign it off.
