A Distinguished Private Residence: Restored and Reimagined

This substantial private home has undergone an extensive and sensitive transformation, including a thoughtfully designed two-storey extension featuring a traditionally detailed garden room. The refurbishment balances modern living requirements with a deep respect for the building’s historic character.

Once listed on the Babergh District Council’s Heritage at Risk Register, the property has been lovingly restored and extended to reflect contemporary lifestyles while preserving its architectural charm and historical significance.

The project has been honoured with two prestigious SAA awards—one for design and another for craftsmanship—recognising the exceptional quality and care invested in every aspect of the work.

All construction and restoration were carried out by local master craftsmen, WA Deacon and Sons, whose dedication and skill are evident throughout the property.
