A replacement dwelling was created on a site occupying an elevated position on the brow of a valley within the Dedham Vale’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its design and layout considered its sensitive location to preserve and enhance the built and natural environment.
The design and mass of the replacement dwelling is a combination of two and single storey elements of a traditional Suffolk Farmhouse evolved overtime. Contemporary elements of traditional forms were focused to the rear of the dwelling and their orientation optimised specific views from the site and down the valley.
