Private House, Woodbridge

A modern detached replacement dwelling completed in central Woodbridge in 2018, with views back up to the Church.

The house includes a two storey structure cut into the site, comprising of two principal wings with a cross wing bridging the two.  Flat roofed sedum roof coverings, with cedar clad paneling connecting the domestic scale brick ‘outbuilding’ elements, which are faced in traditional red stock brickwork, with natural slate roofing over.

The layout to the ground floor provides a flexible open plan arrangement with scope for a ground floor bedroom.  The first floor circulation space is top lit with galleried landing flooding the core of the home with light.  Ease of access and circulation throughout was a key consideration, whilst allowing natural light to flow through from the courtyard garden.
