Latimer House is a large Victorian cliff top home with panoramic sea views across the coast at Felixstowe. Wincer Kievenaar have been involved with various owners, first creating a new swimming pool extension in 2006, and later plans for a double bay cart lodge in 2009.
In 2020 work was completed on a substantial internal reorganisation of the house layout to fit modern modes of living. The kitchen, previously on the north side of the house was moved onto the south side to face the sea views and garden. Removing internal walls connected this space into an open plan dining area, and improved the flow through from a newly refurbished staircase and hallway entrance. A new central entrance doorway now leads straight through to a garden room with bi-fold doors and new surrounds in matching sandstone. Upstairs, a first floor extension creates a new en-suite bedroom facing the sea, and loft conversions provide two new en-suite bathrooms for the second floor bedrooms.
The enhancements were carried out with care and exquisite attention to detail by the contractors Cubitt Theobald and interior designers Rendall & Wright who received an award for best residential interior in the East of England in 2020-21.
